In the world of SKYBIRDS, flying is forbidden.
Dominated by fear, control, and a self-appointed elite, entire flocks of birds have forgotten what freedom truly means. Those who defy the rules are punished—"defeathered"—and cast out of society.
But among the outcasts, something is beginning to awaken.
A group of diverse outsiders dares to question existing boundaries and recall a dream that seemed long lost: the dream of flying.
Amidst oppression, hope, and solidarity, an emotional story unfolds about courage, humanity, and the power to rise together.
SKYBIRDS is a new cinematic dance-theater production about freedom, identity, and the decision to follow one's own path despite fear.

Behind SKYBIRDS is the creative duo of director and founder of the Performing Arts Studios Munich, Nunzio Lombardo, and Italian musician and composer Andrea Pozzoli.
Together, they developed the story, stage concept, music, and visual universe of SKYBIRDS—a new cinematic stage world blending dance, music, and immersive storytelling.
Following the impressive response to last year’s initial trial run at the former Gasteig, SKYBIRDS is now taking the next step onto the big stage with the newly founded SKYBIRDS Productions.
Featuring professional dancers in the lead roles alongside one of Munich’s largest amateur ensembles—and incorporating expansive LED visuals, international choreography, and a specially created narrative world—this modern musical production consciously breaks new ground.
SKYBIRDS is not intended as a one-off project, but rather as a production designed for long-term growth.
